QB Rankings: #1 Landry Jones

To no surprise Artesia's stud signal caller Landry Jones is our preseason #1.

Okay so everyone and their mother already new who was going to be our #1 QB.  Artesia Landry Jones is almost becoming a living legend in the state of New Mexico.  When it's all said and done he will go down with other great QB's from the state like Jim Everett, Brandon Gaskins, Damien Ocampo, Jim Miller and Ryley Hegarty just to name a few.

Jones deserves to be mentioned in that category.  He brings great size at 6'5 and 215.  Jones has a good arm and great touch on his throws.  When watching his tape what was impressive was his abilities to move around with his feet.  Running in the 4.7 range Jones can move around a little for a guy his size.  Last season Jones threw for 3433 yards and 45 touchdown passes.  Just to show that he can run as well Jones ran for 249 yards and added another 9 scores to top it off.  Because of his size and impressive numbers several teams came in to try and recruit Landry.  Landry Jones has always said that he wanted to commit early to get the whole process early.  Jones stayed true to his word and committed a few months ago while he was still a junior in high school.  Oklahoma was lucky enough to get his commitment and Jones should be a major player for them in the future.

Jones right now is not only our #1 ranked QB prospect in New Mexico but he's also our overall number one player in the state.  As of today Jones is currently the #35 overall player in the country and is currently listed as the #2 QB in the nation.  Landry Jones also appears to be a great candidate to play in next years Army All-American game.  If you haven't had a chance to see him play, get out and check him out.  You won't be disappointed.
