Game Preview: Silver vs. St. Pius

Silver and St. Pius both had questions to answer in the beginning of the season. Silver hasn't been consistent each and every week, while St. Pius has struggled against a tough schedule. Come inside to see our thoughts on this game and our prediction.

Silver vs. St. Pius

Silver was as preseason top 10 team while St. Pius had questions heading into the season.

Silver has been up and down all year.  Gabe Britton and Luke Villalba are studs that have been great all season long.  Silver only has two wins on the season those wins coming against Cobre and Gallup.  Silver has fallen against teams that they were probably favored against.  They lost to Bel Air, Onate and Kirtland Central.  If they are going to make a playoff push than they need to get things going in a hurry.

St. Pius coming into the season had to replace one of the top players to ever play in the state in Aaron Springer.  That task has been harder than expected because they have struggle out of the gate limping to a 2-4 record but one their wins was a forfeit win.  They beat Rio Grande in week one but have fallen on hard times the rest of the year.  To be honest their schedule hasn't helped them at all.  They have had a really hard schedule losing to Cibola, Valley, Manzano and La Cueva.  That schedule is as hard as anyone in the state.

This is a hard one to call because both of these teams are talented.  St. Pius is battled tested because of their schedule.  We'll take St. Pius 24-18.
