Stars in the Making III

Alex Carson, Jose Sanchez, Grant Jordan are just three of the players featured in this weeks "Stars in the Making" feature. Come inside to see who else is featured. 8 total players are talked about this week.

Stars in the making is a chance for us to give some love to all the players out there who are making a name for themselves.  Going into the season guys like Landry Jones, Jonathan Mader and Marcus Williams were household names as well they should be.  But, they aren't the only great players in the state of New Mexico.  Here is a quick look at a few QB's, RB's and WR's that are playing great football.

From the QB spot Alex Carson from Hatch is once again having a monster season.  Carson has already thrown for more than 2000 yards on the year and could push the 3000 yard limit.  Jose Sanchez from Santa Teresa has been a tremendous player and a real leader of the team.  Sanchez has thrown for more than 1200 yards on the season.  Last week we introduced you to Cloudcraft RB Ben Faust, today we give some love to Cloudcraft QB Grant Jordan.  Jordan and Faust form a very formidable one two punch.

From a RB standpoint Raul Rodriguez from Los Alamos has actually rushed for more yards than New Mexico State commit Ruben Martinez.  Rodriguez will be one of the top players in the state next season.  Mike Hathcock has also been great.  He has kept teams honest and doesn't allow other teams to come after their pass game.  Bobby Wride from Alamogordo has been overshadowed because of the good play of QB Paul Stewart but he has done a great job running the football and replacing the great C.J. Oakley from last years team.

Looking at the WR position, Piedra Vista WR Brennon Shay is leading the state in receiving yards and is finally getting the credit he deserves.  Andriz Brewster from Santa Teresa has been on the receiving end of Jose Sanchez spirals all season.

Like always we know we missed some stars in the making out there.  If so shoot us an email newmexicoinsider@yahoo.com so we can mention them in next week's piece.
