Game Preview: Highland vs. Valley

Josh Garcia is one of the top juniors in the state this year. Garcia and his teammates are currently 5-2 on the year and have the talent to run the table the rest of the way.

Highland vs. Valley

Highland is talented and better than their record shows.  Valley is having a great season and looks to stay on the right track.

Highland's talent is unquestionable.  The problem with them all season has been on the offensive side of the ball.  They have only scored more than 20 points in a game once this season.  Defensively they actually have been pretty good.  On the defensive side of the ball they have only given up an average of 16 points a game.  At the high school level that is a tremendous number.  If this team can get their offense figured out they have the defense to play with people.

Valley's only two losses on the season were to Manzano and La Cueva, both of those teams are currently ranked in our top 10.  What Valley brings to the table is speed and explosive abilities.  Chris Garcia and Josh Garcia form a great one two punch with their ability to have big plays.  Big Dominic Rodarte leads the boys up front.  Valley is 5-2 on the season and will be favored in the rest of their games.  They have a legit shot at running the table to finish up the regular season 8-2.  They are a playoff team and have the talent to make some noise come playoff time.

Highland has a talented defense that will give Valley a problem and will keep the score down and close.  We'll take Valley in a real close game 24-21.
