Top DE 2008: Alex Montano

Alex Montano from Goddard is our selection as the top defensive lineman for the 2008 season. We know this might not be the most popular pick but if you watched him play on the field, you would understand why. Montano is a stud with a non stop motor.

Every year there are a handful of underclassmen that have such good years, that they earn all state honors. On the defensive line Goddard DE Alex Montano had such a good sophomore season that he was mentioned on several all state lists. Several of the lists had him as a 1st team selection while others gave him honorable mention. Either way, Montano had a tremendous season and goes into the 2008 campaign as our top defensive lineman.

Montano burst onto the scene in 2007 wrecking havoc in the opposition's backfield each and every week. Montano isn't the biggest guy in the world at 6'0 and 210 pounds but he is strong benching 265 and a squat of over 400 pounds. He is a relentless player that has a non stop motor, add in the fact that the game means something to him and you get a special high school football player. Montano might not be considered a great prospect at this point because of his lack of size, but opposing coaches will tell you how good he is.
