Game Preview: Piedra Vista vs. Rio Rancho

Zach Drapeau returned from injury last week and had a very good game recording 14 tackles. He will try and make his presence felt again this week, trying to stop a very talented Piedra Vista team.

Piedra Vista vs. Rio Rancho
Piedra Vista has come on like barn burners after a slow start to the season.  They have moved back into our top 10 rankings and appear to have straightened our their season.  It's really not all that surprising when you consider that we had them ranked in our initial top 10, but what was surprising was their early season losses.  They have put that all behind them and are playing well right now.  Brennon Shay and Eli Fich are easily two of the better players in the state.  Expect them to have big nights this weekend.

Rio Rancho is probably right where most thought they would be.  Which is one of the top 10 teams in New Mexico, but probably not one of the top 3 or 4.  Make no mistake, this team is talented and on any given night they can knock off anyone.  With players like Troy Harris, Tyler Baker and Cody Moya on offense they have the talent and speed necessary to score points.  On defense they welcome back one of the states best in LB Zach Drapeau.  Drapeau sat out a few weeks due to injury, but bounced back nicely with 14 tackles last week.

This game could be interesting.  In reality this is a toss up type game, one can make a legit argument for either team to win this game and come out on top.  But since we always pick a winner, I'll go with Rio Rancho close 24-21
