Side by Side

Today we give you guys a chance to take a look at three great athletes and compare them using film. Troy Harris from Rio Rancho, Jeremiah Cornisht from La Joya AZ and John Hughes from Centennial AZ. Give your thoughts on the message boards. To view the film you have to be a paid member, but remember our free 7 day trial offer.

In an effort to compare student athletes from around the country to the student athletes we have in New Mexico we will do a side by side comparison of the athletes that we have tape on.  We will compare the athletes in New Mexico with athletes from Arizona that have offers at this point.  We think it could be very interesting to see the different videos from the different states and kind of use it as a gauge or comparison.

Jeremiah Cornist
La Joya HS – Arizona 5'9 165
Cornist had a huge senior season rushing for over 1300 yards as the QB in the run dominated offense that the Lobos employ.  Cornist is very quick but doesn't have elite level top end speed.  He ran a 4.69 at the Scout.com Phoenix combine but watching him on film you will see how quick he is.  Jeremiah has an offer from Arizona at this point, but may end up playing at a JUCO because of grade issues.
Here is a link to the Cornist video.

Troy Harris
Rio Rancho HS – New Mexico 5'11 170
Harris was the most dominant player in the state this season.  He rushed for over 2000 yards and was one of the most explosive players in the state.  He has good top end speed and good vision in the open field.  He was voted player of the year by several publications and all state by us.  He doesn't have any offers as of yet, but is hearing from several 1AA schools.

John Hughes
Centennial HS – Arizona 5'4 165
Hughes comes one of the states powerhouse programs in Centennial HS.  They are the three time defending 5AII champs and finished ranked as high as #17 in the country by several different publications.  Hughes is a stud and really can do it all.  His size scares away big time programs, but he was the player of the year in 5AII and has one offer from 1AA Northern Arizona.

So looking at these three athletes what separates them?  I have my own thoughts and ideas.  Before we discuss, click on each link and see what their film looks like.  Also remember that the film of Cornist and Hughes are from their junior season, Harris is from his senior season.
