PrepNewMexico has learned that Las Cruces All-State running back James Hall of the 5A state champ Bulldawgs has accepted an invitation to play for the USA junior national team. The junior national team will compete in a tournament this summer in Canton, Ohio against teams from Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand and Sweden. The team will play three games in Canton starting on June 27th. Previous to the games, the players will report to Canton on June 13th for two weeks of practice. The team will be coached by Chuck Kyle of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. At Ignatius Kyle has won nine Ohio state titles while winning over 80% of his games.
Hall, who signed with New Mexico State University, has been one of the most productive players in recent New Mexico prep history. Over the past two seasons, Hall has rushed for over 3,700 yards leading the Bulldawgs, this season, to 13-0 record. In the state championship game Hall rushed for over 100 yards. At the next level, Hall, who is a strong receiver out of the backfield, could provide an interesting change of pace back for the Aggies. Along with his skill on the field, Hall is a 4.0 student in the classroom. This past season Hall was the PrepNewMexico Player of the Year.
From all of us at PrepNewMexico congratulations.
