New York City Backcourt Player Is Open

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game of New York City backcourt player Danny Lawhorn, who is currently considering a few division one programs in his recruiting process ...

Danny Lawhorn, a 6-foot guard from New York City, hopes to have a more focused recruiting list in the next week.

Danny previously mentioned several division one schools he is interested in perhaps pursing in his recruiting process over the next month.

He stated: "Off the top of my head I have interest in Marshall, Miami of Florida, SMU, UCLA, Maryland Eastern Shore, Iona, UAB, St. John's, Providence, California..."

Lawhorn is hoping to have a huge year at the prep school level, helping him land some more division one college basketball scholarships."

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

Danny had given a verbal commitment to the Rams of Fordham in the Bronx, New York. However, when former Hofstra head coach Tom Pecora became the new head coach at Fordham, Danny felt it was in his best interests to polish his game another year on the prep school level.

*Lawhorn told us previously he was going to play at Roberson Prep School in New Jersey for the 2010-2011 high school season.

DANNY LAWHORN'S SEASON AT SOUTH KENT:

Lawhorn had a terrific season for his team this season. He averaged a double/double in points and assists this past year.

EVALUATION OF DANNY LAWHORN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

*Lawhorn is a tough guard, willing to take the ball to the rim against the bigger bodies. He competes hard on both ends of the court.
