New York City Guard Has Division One Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at a senior guard prospect who hails from New York City and has previously had some scholarship offers on the table to play division one college basketball ...

Danny Lawhorn, a 6-foot guard from New York City, said he is working his way to a more narrowed recruiting list over the next few weeks.

Danny previously mentioned several division one schools he is interested in talking to but has not ruled out any program.

PREVIOUS THOUGHTS ON RECRUITING:

He stated: "Off the top of my head I have interest in Marshall, Miami of Florida, SMU, UCLA, Maryland Eastern Shore, Iona, UAB, St. John's, Providence, California..."

If Lawhorn waits until the spring, and rips off a great year, the list could change in his favor with more offers.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

Danny had previously given a verbal commitment to the Rams of Fordham in the Bronx, New York last Spring. However, when former Hofstra head coach Tom Pecora became the new head coach at Fordham, the parties moved in different directions.

*Lawhorn told us previously he was going to play at Roberson Prep School in New Jersey for the 2010-2011 high school season.

DANNY LAWHORN'S SEASON AT SOUTH KENT:

Lawhorn had a terrific season for his team this season. He averaged a double/double in points and assists this past year.

EVALUATION OF DANNY LAWHORN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

*Lawhorn is a tough guard, willing to take the ball to the rim against the bigger bodies. He competes hard on both ends of the court.
