Area Senior Forward Off To Solid Season Start

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at the individual game of Shaquille Duncan, a senior forward prospect who is now playing prep basketball in the state of New Jersey ...

Shaquille Duncan, a 6-foot-8, 190-pound forward from The Robinson School in the state of New Jersey, registered 14 points and grabbed five rebounds to help his team upend Rise Academy of Pennsylvania, 102-72.

Duncan, who competed last season at Frankfort High School in Philadelphia, Penn., has already made a verbal commitment to Niagara, according to one of his AAU coaches, Paul Gripper of Team Phenom.

Duncan had a solid summer, playing with Team Phenom as well as Matt Pauls' Team NJABC program.

We previously reported that Duncan had been interested in George Mason, Fairfield, Nebraska, Arkansas Little Rock, Virginia Commonwealth, Boston University, Seton Hall, Iona, and Siena.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF DUNCAN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

As he strengthens his frame, this will allow Shaquille to finish better in traffic against the big bodies inside the paint and near the rim.

The senior has shown us he has the ability to play against quality competition. Here are our previous thoughts about his individual game:

Shaquille has the ability to knock down the medium range jumper. He also possesses long arms which help him retrieve loose balls off the glass at both ends of the court.
