Area Underclassman Planning Trips

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at the individual game and season for football player Kenneth Coughlin, who competes at a high school located on Staten Island ...

Kenneth Coughlin, a 5-10 1/2 linebacker/tight end from Tottenville High School in Staten Island, New York, has helped his team surge to a 6-0 record so far this season.

The 220-pounder, a member of the 2012 class and a junior, previously took a visit to North Carolina State and came away very impressed. In addition, Western Kentucky and Duquesne have shown previous interest.

Kenneth's family told us that a trip to Delaware is also a possibility. Previously, we reported that Wagner, Memphis, and East Carolina had expressed some early interest.

DESCRIPTION OF COUGHLIN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Kenneth's first game featured six tackles and two forced fumbles. The starting defense only played the first quarters in game number two.

Also, considered a multiple position player, Coughlin is also the long snapper for Tottenville. He was named to second team All City defense as a defensive tackle last season while also spending some minutes playing the defensive end and linebacker positions.

He currenty holds a 3.2 grade point average as well.
