D-1 Prospect Working Hard To Improve Game

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game of an area senior division one prospect who is hoping to produce a big season as he prepares to play division one college basketball ...

Kazembe Abif, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound power forward who competed at University High School in Newark, New Jersey last season, said he is working hard to improve his individual game and be an impact player on the division one level.

Abif, who verbally committed to Drexel, will sign a letter of intent in the next two weeks, according to Team NJABC head coach Matt Pauls.

"He has a tremendous motor," Pauls said. "He plays hard every possession."

A senior prospect, he competed for Pauls' highly regarded Team NJABC AAU program in some of the best tournaments and events this past summer and spring.

"He attacks the rim," stated Pauls. "He's very physical on the boards making him a tremendous rebounder."

Abif will play for The Lawrenceville School this season.
