New Jersey Guard Prepares For D-1 Level

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game of New Jersey based scoring guard Khalid Lewis, who is going to play division college basketball next season ...

Khalid Lewis, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey (previously McCorristin Catholic H.S.), is preparing to play division one college basketball for Delaware next season.

Khalid is an exciting player to watch. He's able to produce points from anywhere on the court. Over the past year and especially during this past summer, he's made strides in the categories of defense and ballhandling.

He has the skill level to be an impact player for Delaware over a four-year period, starting next Fall.

Lewis had a scholarship offer from Drexel.

Khalid has the ability to produce points from many points on the floor. He has the ability to take the ball to the rim and score consistently as well as drop down jumpers.

He also had some interest from Richmond, Virginia Tech, St. Joe's, Temple, Fairfield, Rider, Siena, and Marist.

TEAM NJABC HEAD COACH MATT PAULS' THOUGHTS ON KHALID'S INDIVIDUAL BASKETBALL GAME: His perimeter game continues to improve. He has a great first step and can destroy the interior of a defense with his drives to the rim.
