Speedy Point Guard Hoping For Big Season

Niagara Falls High School (Niagara Falls, New York) head coach Sal Costantino is very excited about the underclassmen that fill his current boy's basketball roster. Included in this category is J.J. Wilkins, a very fast lead guard who is just a sophomore.

"His point guard skills are improving every day," said Costantino. "He works very hard and we're hoping he has a big season."

Wilkins goes about 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds, built low to the ground and perfect for backcourt skills, especially at the point guard position.

"J.J. really changes the outlook of the game from the defensive side," said Costantino. "He is improving every day in practice too. He reminds me of former St. Bonaventure guard Tim Winn, a Niagara Falls native."

Costantino is hoping Wilkins and the rest of his young players make progress month to month, giving them a chance to win many basketball games this season.
