Area Prospect Landing Some Division One Looks

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the athletic career of two-sport star Anthony Gaffney, who has division one recruiting interest in both basketball and football ...

Anthony Gaffney, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound football/basketball prospect from The Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, said he's averaging around 20 points a game in his senior season on the boy's basketball team.

"I've been working on my consistency," he said.

But Gaffney is a player likely to play college football somewhere despite his skills as a basketball player.

Currently, his list features Harvard, Princeton, e Lehigh, Lafayette, Holy Cross, and Georgetown as the most serious schools. However, Anthony added: "Delaware, Villanova, William and Mary, Connecticut, and Boston College have stayed in touch. All of these schools have expressed tons of interest but none have really stood out as a clear frontrunner."

RECRUITING INTEREST: Gaffney has made it clear he'll play college football so the list above is probably where he'll end up choosing from once it's time to make a decision.
