New York Prospect Working Hard For D-1 Looks

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at the individual game of a New York prospect who is now competing on the JUCO level as previously published by Brian Towey ...

Marcus Damus, 6-foot-6, 180-pound wing player and redshirt freshman from Westchester Community College, is a player to watch over the next few months as he tries to attract interest from four-year colleges.

As previously reported by writer Brian Towey, Damus spent his freshman year at Cowley County (Kansas) Community College. He hurt his shoulder only six games into the season and needed surgery. Damus petitioned to get the year back from the NCAA and won.

BRIAN TOWEY'S VIEW OF MARCUS DAMAS' INDIVIDUAL GAME:

The native of Bay Shore, N.Y., cuts to the rim in long, swooping strides and owns a good motor. His length is a major asset.

He has the ability to put the ball on the floor, drive past his man. In addition, he utilizes his long arms on the defensive side to make steals.

RECRUITING PROCESS:

UNC-Wilmington has offered while Iona and Rhode Island have expressed interest.
