JUCO Prospect Landing D-1 Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan with the help of Brian Towey, showcase the individual game of former Long Island high school star Marcus Damus, who is generating division one interest in his skill level ...

Marcus Damus, 6-foot-6, 180-pound wing player and redshirt freshman from Westchester Community College, will have three years to compete at a four year division one college basketball program. This makes him an extremely attractive recruit and a player to monitor over the next few months.

Reporter Brian Towey Update:

Damus spent his freshman year at Cowley County (Kansas) Community College. He hurt his shoulder only six games into the season and needed surgery. Damus petitioned to get the year back from the NCAA and won the appeal.

BRIAN TOWEY'S VIEW OF MARCUS DAMAS' INDIVIDUAL GAME:

The native of Bay Shore, N.Y., cuts to the rim in long, swooping strides and owns a good motor. His length is a major asset.

He has the ability to put the ball on the floor, drive past his man. In addition, he utilizes his long arms on the defensive side to make steals.

RECRUITING PROCESS:

UNC-Wilmington has offered a scholarship while Iona and Rhode Island have expressed interest.
