New York Guard Having Solid Regular Season

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a regular season update on New York born guard Danny Lawhorn, who is currently competing at the Robinson School located in the Garden State of New Jersey ...

Danny Lawhorn, a 6-foot guard from New York City who competes at the Robinson School in New Jersey, has been making very good progress in his perimeter game, making him a better threat on the offensive side of the ball. "I'm getting a lot," he said with a confident tone. "My jump shot is better, more consistent, getting it to drop more. This is what I work on the most to get ready for college. But I'm also working on my strength to help me defensively and scoring near the basket."

Danny has also said he wanted to work on his point guard skills, including the area of being a floor general. "I feel I have made progress in those areas too," he said. "It comes with confidence."

LAWHORN ON HIS COLLEGE COMMITMENT:

"I'm going to UMES (University of Maryland-Eastern Shore)," he said. "I'm excited about playing there next season."

DANNY LAWHORN'S SEASON AT THE ROBINSON SCHOOL:

Danny produced 18 points, contributed 12 assists and four steals to help the Robinson School defeat Rise Academy of Pennsylvania, 102-72.

EVALUATION OF DANNY LAWHORN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

*Lawhorn is a tough guard, willing to take the ball to the rim against the bigger bodies. He competes hard on both ends of the court. He has the New York attitude, fearless when it comes to taking the rock to the basket.

Lawhorn had previously given a commitment a year ago to Fordham. After a coaching change was made at Fordham, Lawhorn opened up his recruiting process.
