Area Senior Prospect Has Some D-1 Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game of Holy Cross High School senior prospect Evan Conti, who has had a solid season drawing some division one interest in his recruiting process ...

Evan Conti, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound small forward/shooting guard from Holy Cross High School in Flushing, New York, is a valuable part of Paul Gilvary's boy's basketball program.

The reasons are is Evan does so many things well on the court. He is a leader, a senior who is counted on at both ends of the court. Currently, Conti is averaging almost 18 points a game and recording nearly 10 rebounds.

He is an unselfish player too, finding open teammates usually around five times a game for baskets.

Conti has an offer from the University of Hartford and interest from Kent State, New Hampshire, Fairfield, and Holy Cross College.

An injury last season hurt Conti's chances of drawing more recruiting interest early in his recruiting process. "I had a lot more interest last year but I was out for three months in the AAU season with a broken ankle and a lot of those schools stopped recruiting me."

Evan plays AAU basketball for the Rising Stars under head coach Danny Gimple.
