Holy Cross Senior Has More D-1 Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at the individual game and recruiting process of Holy Cross High School senior prospect Evan Conti, who has had a big season so far for head coach Paul Gilvary ...

Evan Conti, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound small forward/shooting guard from Holy Cross High School in Flushing, New York, told us his recruiting list has expanded. "LIU and Marist are now interested," he said.

Conti has had a tremendous season for head coach Paul Gilvary. He is averaging nearly 18 points per game and 10 rebounds. A member of the 1,000 point club, Conti has amassed over 550 rebounds.

Evan previously told us he had recruiting interest from UMBC, Tulane, Hartford, Kent State, New Hampshire, Fairfield, Holy Cross College, and St. Francis of Pennsylvania.

DESCRIPTION OF EVAN CONTI'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

He is a leader, a senior who is counted on at both ends of the court to make the key plays. He makes subtle contributions too, boxing out his man, finding open teammates for easier shots.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

An injury last season hurt Conti's chances of drawing more recruiting interest early in his recruiting process. "I had a lot more interest last year but I was out for three months in the AAU season with a broken ankle and a lot of those schools stopped recruiting me."

Evan plays AAU basketball for the Rising Stars under head coach Danny Gimple.
