Holy Cross Forward Helps Team Move Along

Marcus Hopper, the 6-foot-9, 238-pounder from Holy Cross High School in Flushing, New York, said he is looking forward to playing in the CHSAA semifinals this Wednesday at St. John's University after his team upended St. Francis Prep in the quarterfinals last night.

Marcus has had a very consistent season, averaging 14 points per game while improving in the rebounding department. He averages 12 rebounds per contest this season.

WHAT MARCUS HOPPER SAYS ABOUT HIS INDIVIDUAL GAME PROGRESS:

"I feel I have made improvements in my perimeter game," he said. "I've also worked very hard to be a better defensive player."

**Hopper has extended his perimeter range, knocking down 43 percent of this three-point attempts.

MARCUS HOPPER'S RECRUITING PROCESS:

New Hampshire, Robert Morris, Holy Cross College Fairfield, Providence, UMBC, Marist, Winthrop and Siena.

"Marcus has a nice frame. He works hard. He knows what he has to do to become a better player. He's a good listener. He's smart and picks up things. So this is great for him in the future.

"He's very coachable, likeable. You want him to succeed because he has such a desire to be a better player. He'll get there. He'll work at making the improvements."
