East Coast Junior Worth Watching This Spring

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game and regular season progress of East Coast underclassman Eric Fanning, who is coming off a terrific junior boy's basketball season ...

Eric Fanning, a very talented 6-foot-5, 200-pound hard-working power forward/small forward prospect from The Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, is a player worth watching this spring and summer on the AAU circuit.

Eric scored over 24 points a game and hauled down nearly 11 rebounds per contest in the 2010-2011 boy's basketball season.

ERIC FANNING'S TREMENDOUS GAMES THIS SEASON:

Eric has scored over 20 points in most of his regular season game. His biggest game was eye opening. He ripped off 53 points to help his team defeat Mercy Academy.

According to his AAU coach Matt Pauls of Team NJABC, Fanning also pulled down 16 rebounds in his best game of his career.

RECRUITING INTEREST:

Cornell, James Madison, Boston University, Georgia Southern, Quinnipiac, Stony Brook, Army, Citadel, St. Francis (PA), Colgate, and Drexel have been mentioned by Eric and his AAU coach, Matt Pauls, as being schools of interest.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

Eric did take an unofficial visit to Drexel. "This visit was very nice. I got to watch a practice. The practice was very structured and intense. Coach Bruiser (Flint) is a great coach and he has great assistants. I went up there with coach Matt (Pauls).

WHAT TEAM NAJABC HEAD COACH MATT PAULS PREVIOUSLY SAID ABOUT ERIC FANNING AND HIS INDIVIDUAL GAME:

"He practices hard all the time, always looking to make improvements in his game."

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF ERIC FANNING'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Eric is a solid student too, opening up some academic options if he wishes to explore them over the next two seasons.

Eric competes very hard on both ends of the court, working hard on every possession.
