Holy Cross Senior Has Big Senior Year

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at the individual game and tremendous senior season Holy Cross prospect Evan Conti had for head coach Paul Gilvary ...

Evan Conti, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound small forward/shooting guard from Holy Cross High School in Flushing, New York had a tremendous senior season for head coach Paul Gilvary despite his team falling in the New York Catholic League semifinals.

Conti scored over 18 points a game and hauled down almost 10 rebounds per contest in the 2010-2011 season.

"Chuck martin the head coach from Marist is coming to school to talk to me tomorrow or Tuesday," said Conti. "Hopefully he offers me and I take a visit."

In addition, McNeese State from Louisiana called me and are interested. I will know more about visits this time next week."

Previously, Evan told us that he had interest from LIU, UMBC, Tulane, Hartford, Kent State, New Hampshire, Fairfield, Holy Cross College, and St. Francis of Pennsylvania.

DESCRIPTION OF EVAN CONTI'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

He is a leader, a senior who is counted on at both ends of the court to make the key plays. He makes subtle contributions too, boxing out his man, finding open teammates for easier shots.

Evan surpassed the 1,000 point mark this season and nearly 600 rebounds for his career.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

An injury last season hurt Conti's chances of drawing more recruiting interest early in his recruiting process. "I had a lot more interest last year but I was out for three months in the AAU season with a broken ankle and a lot of those schools stopped recruiting me."

Evan plays AAU basketball for the Rising Stars under head coach Danny Gimple.
