Two-Sport Athlete Has Some Division One Looks

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a detailed look at the individual games and regular season successes of two-sport student/athlete Bruce Brittingham, who is being recruited in both areas ...

Bruce Brittingham, a 6-foot, 190-pound football and basketball athlete from The Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennyslvania, concluded a solid basketball season for his team. Despite being just a junior, he eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in his last game of the year, a championship title game.

Bruce's season was outstanding. He scored over 19 points a game, handing out seven assists and pulling down six rebounds.

He is also a very good high school football player and seems to have a higher range of interest in this sport.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

Connecticut, Villanova, Akron and Georgia State have shown the most interest recently in the sport of football while low division one schools have monitored Bruce's basketball skills. Brittingham has already unofficially visited the campus of Connecticut for football.

WHAT HIS AAU BASKETBALL COACH MATT PAULS THINKS ABOUT BRUCE BRITTINGHAM'S ATHLETIC CAREER:

"Bruce is also an effective basketball player, landing some low division one looks. He works very hard. He is a tough competitor worker who improves each practice and game. He has the heart of a lion.

"Bruce competes much bigger than his size. He's on the glass a lot, battling for loose balls against the bigger bodies in the paint and scoring near the lip of the rim."
