New York Big Man Has Several Options

Marcus Hopper, the 6-foot-9, 238-pounder from Holy Cross High School in Flushing, New York, told us he is considering several options, including possible prep school to give himself another year of polishing his individual game.

Recently, Hopper told us that Georgia Southern and Bowling Green were getting involved in his recruiting process.

Hopper had a terrific season, averaging 14 points per game while hauling down 12 rebounds per contest during the 2010-2011 season for Paul Gilvary's Holy Cross High School boy's basketball program.

WHAT MARCUS HOPPER SAYS ABOUT HIS INDIVIDUAL GAME PROGRESS:

"I feel I have made improvements in my perimeter game," he said. "I've also worked very hard to be a better defensive player."

**Hopper has extended his perimeter range, knocking down 43 percent of this three-point attempts.

MARCUS HOPPER'S RECRUITING PROCESS:

In addition to the two schools mentioned above, Robert Morris, New Hampshire, Robert Morris, Holy Cross College, Fairfield, UMBC, Marist, Winthrop and Siena are of interest.

"Marcus has a nice frame. He works hard. He knows what he has to do to become a better player. He's a good listener. He's smart and picks up things. So this is great for him in the future.

"He's very coachable, likeable. You want him to succeed because he has such a desire to be a better player. He'll get there. He'll work at making the improvements."
