NJ Two-Sport Athlete Will Go Prep

Reporter Mike Sullivan updates the recruiting process of Anthony Gaffney, who will now attend a prep school instead of playing football on the next level ...

Thanks To Alex Kline for the update: Anthony Gaffney, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound football/basketball prospect from The Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, will attend Taft in Connecticut, a prep school, giving himself another year to make improvements in his individual game.

Previously, Gaffney told us he was ready to play football for Holy Cross next Fall.

Gaffney has opened up his recruiting process (thanks to Alex Kline for helping us with the information).

Gaffney had terrific senior seasons in both basketball and football for The Pennington School in New Jersey

He produced nearly 19 points a game while hauling down nine rebounds per contest for a boy's basketball program that played a very competitive schedule

WHAT HIS HOOPS AAU COACH MATT PAULS SAID ABOUT ANTHONY GAFFNEY AS A BASKETBALL PLAYER:

His midrange game has improved dramatically He has been attacking the rim with a vengeance He needs improve his ballhandling and penetrating left
