PLAYER PROFILE: Kenny Johnson

HEIGHT: 6-foot-3

WEIGHT: 172 Pounds

POSITIONS: Small Forward/shooting guard

HIGH SCHOOL: Abington Friends School in Jenkinstown, Pennsylvania

AAU PROGRAM: Team Phenom out of basketball minded Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

CLASS: Class of 2012, graduated from high school in June of this year. However, he can be reclassified and utilize a prep school option if needed.

DESCRIPTION OF KENNY JOHNSON'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Johnson is a difficult wingman to defend near the basket since he is tenacious and not afraid to tangle with the bigger bodies in the paint. Johnson averaged over five rebounds per contest showing his ability to be an effective player near the rim.

AAU TEAM:

Team Phenom, a program based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and coached by Paul Gripper, is considered one of the better basketball teams in the country. "He's always been a top player for us, helping us win many games," said Coach Gripper. "He is a hard worker, plays tough near the rim, much bigger than his size."

JOHNSON'S TOP GAMES DURING THE 2011 SUMMER AAU SEASON:

On Sunday, Johnson scored 15 points to help Team Phenom to the Silver championship at the Bigshots event held in Washington, D.C.

Previously, over the weekend, Kenny produced 19 points for Team Phenom in a tournament game played in Washington, D.C.

Team Phenom lost to the host DC Assault, 58-57.

Previously, Kenny scored six points as Team Phenom struggled out West in a tournament, losing to Friends of Seattle, 55-46. In addition, Johnson scored seven points in a loss to the Texas Assault, in the Desert Duel second round game held in the state of Arizona.

In addition, Kenny scored 20 points to help his team, Jrue Holiday, upend Team Nate, 66-59, in a Chosen League game held in Philadelphia.

Johnson also pulled down six rebounds and had two steals in the victory.

TOP GAMES FOR 2010-2011 HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL SEASON:

Kenny scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in a rough defeat to Friends Central, 55-50, in a physical playoff battle.

Previously, Johnson produced 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help his high school team defeat Westtown, 48-42.

Kenny averaged 13 points a game during the 2010-2011 boy's basketball campaign, playing for a program that competed against a tough schedule of teams.

Johnson also produced 23 points and grabbed five rebounds to help defeat a talented Trenton Catholic boy's basketball program. For his outstanding effort, Johnson was named the most valuable player.
