East Coast Senior Prospect Has Solid Summer

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game and summer progress of a division one recruit who is considered a very productive scorer from the wing position ...

Eric Fanning, a talented and productive 6-foot-5, 202-pound power forward/small forward prospect from The Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, had a very impressive and productive summer on the AAU circuit.

Fanning, who has already committed to Wagner, is a productive player who can score and should be an impact player at the Staten Island based school for four years.

SCOUT ALEX KLINE'S THOUGHTS ON ERIC FANNING'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

"Eric does a good job of being versatile at 6-foot-5. He can play the 1, 2 and 3 because of his handle. Fanning is a good shooter, who can become great with some more work. He also attacks the rim, but needs to be much more consistent and confident with his game."

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

Eric had a terrific 2010-2011 boy's basketball scoring over 24 points per contest for his boy's high school basketball team. He was solid on both ends too, grabbing nearly 11 rebounds per game.

ERIC FANNING'S TREMENDOUS GAMES THIS SEASON:

His biggest game was eye opening. He ripped off 53 points to help his team defeat Mercy Academy.

According to his AAU coach Matt Pauls of Team NJABC, Fanning also pulled down 16 rebounds in his best game of his career.

PREVIOUS RECRUITING INTEREST:

Cornell, James Madison, Boston University, Georgia Southern, Quinnipiac, Stony Brook, Army, Citadel, St. Francis (PA), Colgate, and Drexel.

WHAT TEAM NAJABC HEAD COACH MATT PAULS PREVIOUSLY SAID ABOUT ERIC FANNING AND HIS INDIVIDUAL GAME:

"He practices hard all the time, always looking to make improvements in his game."

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF ERIC FANNING'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Eric is a solid student too, opening up some academic options if he wishes to explore them over the next two seasons.

Eric competes very hard on both ends of the court, working hard on every possession.
