Guard Prospect Worth Watching This Season

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a free, detailed look at the individual basketball game of an underclassman who is worth watching over the next few seasons ...

Cameron Heywood, a 5-foot-4 backcourt prospect from the East Coast, is a player to watch over the next few seasons here in the tri-state area.

According to his father, Derek, Cameron will compete this season for one of the best high school programs in New Jersey.

"Cameron will play at Paramus Catholic High School," said Mr. Heywood. Cameron is from Spring Valley, New York.

Here is a brief summary of his individual game. Cameron is a member of the 2015 class. We originally had him listed in the 2016 class. We apologize for the mistake.

LOOKING AT CAMERON'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Heywood has the ability to play both backcourt positions effectively. He has solid three point range on his jumper and a terrific floor game.

Obviously, the areas to work on down the road will be physical since he is so young. But he is worth watching over the next couple of years as he begins to establish his individual game in the New York/New Jersey areas not only on the high school level but also in AAU competition and in the IS8 spring and fall leagues.
