Fields Wants To Make Fall Decision

Levance Fields is clearly one of the best lead guards in the 2005 class and many schools have already offered him

Levance Fields, the dazzling, 5-foot-11, 204-pound point guard from Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, is part of the New York Gauchos' machine that hopes to repeat its Showcase title here in Florida.

The Gauchos received a scare in the first game, coming back from a double-digit disadvantage to win. Fields scored 20 points to help lead the Gauchos back to the victory.

Fields said he hopes to make a decision in the Fall on his schools. "The Big East schools have been recruiting me hard," he said after his team's win. "St. John's, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Miami, Boston College...."

St. John's, Pittsburgh, and South Florida have offered. Others who have shown an interest in Fields include Rider, Kentucky, and Hofstra.
