Chris Martin Will Prep

Christ The King guard Chris Martin has made a decision on prep school

Following the path a couple of his Christ the King teammates have already taken, Chris Martin will go the prep route. The 6-foot, 195-pound combo guard will enroll at Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Maine, in the fall, where he'll play for Coach Ed Jones.

A ruggedly built lefthander who handled the point and played off the ball some for Coach Bob Oliva this past season, Martin had generated some late interest from schools like UMass and Rhode Island. Chris is a physically tough guard known for his defensive steeliness. As a jump shooter, he's streaky. Martin's decision-making is something he had been working on last season.

Martin joins CK teammate Adam Walker in the New England prep school ranks. Walker recently opted for a postgraduate year at Northfield Mount Hermon. A third Royal, shooting guard Niko Scott, will likely follow suit. Scott is likely to attend Brewster Academy in New Hampshire in the fall.
