12 Area Players on Scout.com Top 100

The New York - New Jersey - Conn. area is well represented on Scout.com's Class of 2006 Top 100 which was released Wednesday.

Leading the group is Niagara Falls' Paul Harris who, after a season at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass., comes in at no. 10. Harris signed with Syracuse.

The rest are:

  • No. 18 Lance Thomas (undecided) from St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J. Rutgers is among the schools on his final list.
  • No. 24 Earl Clark from Rahway (NJ) High School. Signed with Louisville.
  • No. 25 Derrick Caracter prepped at Notre Dame (Mass.). The New Jersey native also signed with Louisville.
  • No. 35 Curtis Kelly from New York City's Rice High School. He committed to Connecticut.
  • No. 38 Brian Zoubek from Haddonfield Memorial (NJ) High School. Signed with Duke.
  • No. 62 Doug Wiggins from East Hartford (CT) High School. Also headed to UConn.
  • No 64 Edgar Sosa, Kelly's teammate at Rice and future teammate at Louisville.
  • No. 68 Desean Butler from Bloomfield (NJ) High School. Signed with West Virginia.
  • No. 70 Dan Werner from Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, N.J. Signed with the coach-less North Carolina State.
  • No. 75 Taj Gibson from Brooklyn, N.Y. and Stoneridge Preparatory School in Tarzana, Calif. Signed with USC.
  • No. 97 Eugene Harvey from Brooklyn and St. Bendict's Prep. Undecided, has Rutgers and Seton Hall on his list.
