Big Summer Ahead For Jamine Peterson

A look at the game of Jamine Peterson ...

There were plenty of big names on hand a weekend ago when the Michael Jordan All Star classic was played inside Madison Square Garden. But it was a lesser known player -- Jamine Peterson -- that wowed the crowd with his skills and athletic ability.

Peterson , a 6-foot-5 athletic forward who played this past season at Boys and Girls H.S. in Brooklyn, hit 11 of 16 shots from the floor to lead all scorers with 24 points in the regional game.

"I had a lot of fun," Peterson said. "It was a good time. The players are very good on both teams."

Peterson will continue to try and improve his game next season by prepping a year at Notre Dame Prep in Massachusetts next season. "I want to work on my shooting and ballhandling," said Peterson.

Peterson stated he is open in his recruiting process but is interested in Rutgers, St. John's, Seton Hall, Iowa State, Massachusetts, and Memphis.

"I don't have a leader," he said. "I just want to get better as a player."

Peterson scored his 24 points in 16 minutes of play. He also pulled down five rebounds. If he progresses in his jumper, it's likely he will have more schools recruiting him hard come this Fall.
