New York City Forward Staying Home This Year?

Scout.com reporter Mike Sullivan of the High School New York/New Jersey website has the latest information regarding the status of a talented New York City forward who at first had decided to go prep for one of the country's top coaches ...

Rock Eisenberg is well known around the New York City area as a coach that cares about his players. Eisenberg recently went on the nycnjhoops.com website to alert readers that his star forward was thinking about changing his high school from Tilden High School in New York for St. Thomas More in Connecticut.

"Alanzo George our 6-9 star at Tilden High School was all set to go to St.Thomas More Prep and play fpr my good friend Jere Quinn," Eisenberg said. "We had raised all the needed funds and we all were looking forward to "Zo" having a super year under the expert tutelage of the man I consider to be the best combination of teacher/coach in the country."

Eisenberg added on the nycnjhoops.com site: "However Alanzo has some immigration issues which are being worked out. Until they are he will attend Tilden High School and work out with Jason Curry and the Big Apple Basketball group. Alanzo is three months too old to play his senior season at Tilden therefore he can only work out with us and get ready for the future. All of us at Tilden will always be there for Alanzo and his wonderful family.

George is an intersting recruit. His size makes him attractive. If he is able to make the move to a prep school and compete this season, it's likely more schools will take a serious look at him.

George has already taken a visit to Manhattan and has serious interst from Akron, Fordham, and St. Francis of Pennsylvania. Eisenberg recently said St. John's is also on the list.
