New York City Guard Heading North To Prep

Thomas Manzano, the 6-foot-4 agile guard from Brooklyn, New York, appears to be ready to compete in the talent rich New England Prep School League. According to New York Panthers program director, Gary Charles, Manzano will play at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Manzano first started his high school career in at Canarsie High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. After he finished up at Canarsie, he transferred to Genesis One in Mississippi. Manzano made a name for himself in the IS8 league over the past year.

Brian Towey's Scouting Report: Manzano is a springy slasher who possesses energy and eye-catching athleticism. The player once dubbed "high-rising Thomas" at the IS8 League in Queens for his penchant for tip dunks and athletic finishes is a talented recruit worth a look.

"Thomas has some division one interest," Charles said. "Southern Cal and Oklahoma State have asked about him. He's open. He should have a good year at Notre Dame Prep."

Previously, Cincinnati, St. Francis, St. Peter's, Siena, Marist, LIU, and Mississippi State had been mentioned by Manzano as being of interest.
