New York City Guard Ready For A Visit

Scout.com reporter Mike Sullivan of the High School New York/New Jersey website profiles an exciting, fun guard to watch from New York City. This particular player was impressive this summer and is planning a trip ...

He was one of the more improved players over the past year. And he did it for one of the country's most fundamentally sound AAU programs -- the Westchester Hawks.

Nick Hendra, a 6-foot-2 guard from Xavier High School in New York, N.Y., was rewarded for his fine play this past spring and summer with many scholarship offers.

According to sources close to Hendra, Nick will take at least one visit this Fall. Our sources indicate that Hendra will take a trip to Fairfield this upcoming weekend. Fairfield is one of many schools that have offered Hendra, who possesses nice court awareness as well as the ability to score.

Hendra is active on both ends of the court. He has the ability to deflect the ball in the passing lanes and move down the court quickly. Nick also can climb among the big bodies and occasionally hit a big shot.

Nick has more offers from solid division one programs. Among the offers: Boston University, Sacred Heart, St. Peter's, American, Quinnipiac, New Hampshire, Lafayette, FDU, and Columbia (admission requirements).

Hendra has also expressed interest in Canisius, Loyola of Maryland, Duquesne, St. Joe's, Hofstra, Virginia Tech, Bucknell, Richmond, and Texas Tech.
