Wishing Kojo Mensah & Shawn James Best Wishes

The Scout.com High School New York/New Jersey website would like to wish the New Yorkers on Duquesne's basketball team well ...

It's hard to read about any young man or young woman falling victim to any tragedy. But when it involves young men that you had a chance to talk to over the past few years, it makes it even harder.

So this website would like to wish Kojo Mensah and Shawn James the best and state publically our prayers are with both players and their families.

Duquesne publisher Denny Conroy was kind enough to send us an update on the players that were shot on campus after a party. Here is their current status:

Sam Ashaolu, a Toronto native who transferred from a junior college, is the most seriously hurt. He was shot in the head and remains in critical condition in Mercy Hospital's ICU.

Stuard Baldonaldo., a JC transfer originally from Colombia, was also hospitalized Sunday at Mercy. His condition improved from critical to stable. Was shot in the elbow and shoulder.

Kojo Mensah, a transfer from Siena and native of Brooklyn, was hospitalized at UMPC after beinf hit in the right shoulder and the left forearm. He was scheduled to be discharged this afternoon and will return home with his parents.

Shawn James, a transfer from Northeastern and AAU teammate of Mensah's, was shot in the foot and was treated and released by Mercy Sunday morning.

Aaron Jackson, last season's starting point guard from Connecticut, was also treated and released Sunday morning. He had been shot in the hand.
