It was refreshing to see a team move the ball so swiftly side to side, opening up areas for easy shots. There were four St. Dom's players in double figures while two others had eight points.
One of the key players was Markeys Dean, who ran off 21 points in the victory. Dean and T.J. Thomas combined for 19 points in the first quarter as St. Dom's led 26-8.
The lead stretched to 52-25 at the half. And St. Dominic's made it 72-47 heading into the fourth quarter. Thomas finished the game with 22 points, including two three-pointers. Thomas moved briskly around the court, setting up passing lanes for his guards while cutting to the basket.
Lefty guard Roland Davis was also effective in carving up the KYDA defense. Davis scored 15 points. Brian Katz added 13 points for the winners. Ryan O'Brady and James Wilson each finished the game with eight points for St. Dom's.
Dean is a player being recruited at the division one level. Stony Brook and Ball State are two schools Dean indicated interest in at this stage of his recruiting process.
