New York Area Center Taking Visit

Scout.com East Coast recruiting expert Mike Sullivan has the latest recruiting information on a big man who hails from the New York City area ...

Coming off a solid weekend at IS8, Jabari Edwards is ready to take an official visit, according to New York Panthers program director, Gary Charles.

"Jabari is visiting George Washington this weekend," Charles said. "He is still open."

Edwards blocked 15 shots on Friday, according to Charles. "He's much improved," Charles said. "And he will get better under Danny (Hurley, St. Benedict's Prep)."

Jabari is looking forward to his senior season at St. Benedict's this winter. At 6-foot-10 and possessing long arms, Edwards has the ability to alter and block shots as proven by this past weekend at IS8.

However, Edwards will need to bolter his frame, adding weight and muscle. If he does, Jabari can be a big-time college basketball player.

"Seton Hall is also interested," Charles said.

Long Island University, Virginia, West Virginia, Rhode Island, Penn State, Penn, and St. John's have previously been mentioned by Edwards as schools of interest.
