Small Guard Possesses Big Game

A look at the game of one of the better shooters in the 2008 class ...

You hear it all the time about guards. If they don't possess size above 6-foot-1, many question whether they can compete at a high division one level.

So, right way, players like Erving Walker of Christ The King High School in Middle Village, New York have to overcome that bias.

But Walker can play. And Erving can shoot. And the game of basketball is about defending and shooting.

Walker, a member of the class of 2008, has rung up five or six three-pointers in a row in several AAU games during summer. He played for Tiny Morton's Juice All Stars over the summer.

But at 5-foot-6 Walker will likely have his doubters. But it's no surprise to him. It's just a ritual that most players of his size go through during the course of their careers. But college coaches know he can shoot. It's a weapon that most schools value, no matter how big the player is. So Walker should continue to see extended division one interest.
