Forward Gaining Confidence For Season

Scout.com's East Coast recruiting expert Mike Sullivan profiles a forward who should have a solid season ...

Andrew Gabriel, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound power forward/small forward from Christ The King High School in Middle Village, N.Y., is another player to monitor this winter. Gabriel impressed us during the terrific CTK playoff run last season.

Gabriel possesses a rugged frame and has shown the ability to beat his bigger opponents down the court in transition. Andrew uses his frame wisely around the basket to score.

Gabriel went up against tough competition over the past year and seemed to thrive against the bigger named recruits such as Connecticut's Curtis Kelly.

Andrew scored 14 points in the Royals tough loss. Under the direction of Christ the King head coach Bob Oliva, Gabriel has progressed in his individual game.

Gabriel has played previously for Joe Walsh of the Long Island Lightning in AAU tournaments. He also plays AAU ball with Christ the King assistant coach Artie Cox with Team Odom.
