Rosen, Holland Lead Way For IS8 Playoff Win

Scout.com's East Coast recruiting expert Mike Sullivan was on hand yesterday to watch the playoffs at IS8 ...

Zack Rosen hit several key baskets and Johnny Holland also provided some big points to lead the Gym Bad Boyz to a 88-84 overtime victory over the Royal Family in the first round of the IS8 playoffs.

Rosen, a lefty junior guard who will play for St. Benedict's in Newark, New Jersey this winter, also showed the ability to distribute the ball. Rosen had eight assists. He also had several other beautiful passes that weren't converted by his teammates.

Holland showed his athletic skills too. He can jump out of the gym and also score around the basket. Johnny finished the game with 20 points and showed he is quite capable of playing competitive division one basketball on the college level. More on Holland and Rosen's recruiting process later on this site.

The Gym Bad Boyz were tied 16-16 after the first eight minutes of play. They led 41-33 at the half. However, a big effort by the Royal Family in the third reversed the lead. The Royal Family led 61-58 heading into the fourth quarter.

However, key plays were provided by Rosen and Holland in helping the Bad Boyz get to overtime and eventually clinch the playoff victory.

The quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday while the semis and final is set for next Sunday.
