New Jersey Hoopster Rosen Impressive At IS8

Scout.com's East Coast recruiting expert Mike Sullivan came away impressed with the game of Zack Rosen who competed this past weekend at IS8 ...

Impressive. It's the most accurate word to describe one's feelings after watching Zack Rosen compete this past weekend in the playoffs at IS8 for the Gym Bad Boyz.

Rosen scored 22 points and had eight assists in helping his team upend the Royal Family this past Saturday.

Rosen also played for The New Jersey Elite (Orange) AAU program under head coach Galen Smith this past summer. The Elite of New Jersey were very impressive at Disney World in late July.

Rosen, a lefty shooting guard who initially came Colonia High School in New Jersey, is attending St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, New Jersey. During the summer, Rosen showed a soft touch from the outside and the ability to score from beyond the three-point line.

The question regarding the progress of Rosen's game was could he become more of a playmaker. The answer if you watched him play last Saturday was a resounding "yes."

Rosen did a terrific job breaking traps and kniving through defenders to set up teammates several times. There were also many occasions his passes were successful in spotting an open teammate but wasn't rewarded with an assist due to a missed shot.

Iowa State, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers were schools that expressed early interest. But Rosen has a couple more years left to polish his game. It appears he is on the right track to be a solid division one college basketball player.
