St. John's University has high expectations for athletic power forward Justin Burrell, who currently competes for Bridgton Academy in Maine. Burrell didn't disappoint today at IS8. Burrell will play for Norm Roberts' Red Storm basketball program next season.

Burell, 6-foot-8, slammed home several baskets to lead the J.R. All Stars to a 114-79 victory over the Holy Cross Knights in a semifinal playoff game in South Jamaica, New York.

Burrell (pictured) wasn't the only key player for the J.R. All Stars. Mike Glover was very effective inside the paint. He scored 16 points. Corey Fisher did a nice job running the offense. He scored 17 points and added seven assists.

Nick Murphy, who had a great career for the Long Island Lightning over the past couple of seasons, added 14 points for the winners.

It was a blowout from the opening period despite an incredible effort by Sylven Landesberg, who had a game-high 46 points. The JR All Stars led 36-19 after the first quarter, 62-47 at the half, and 91-63 heading into the fourth quarter.

Landesberg's 33 points at the half kept the game within reach for the Knights. However, the JR All Stars had too many high quality players ready to attack the Knights' defense from the opening tip.
