Big Year Ahead For Jordan Theodore's Mike Sullivan had a chance to speak to outstanding guard Jordan Theodore ...

The New York City Gauchos AAU program has a long tradition of polishing some of the best guards in the country during their AAU season.

One particular guard to watch over the next year is Jordan Theodore, a 6-foot guard who competes for Paterson Catholic High School in New Jersey. Theodore played this summer for the New York City Gauchos 16 and 17 and under AAU team.

The Gauchos 16 and under team won several tournament championships, including the Five Star Hoop Classic, the Rumble in the Bronx, and the Peach Jam.

"We had a good summer," Theodore stated. "We played against some great teams too."

Jordan said he is in the process of working on his whole game. "I always try to work on everything," he said. "I want to get stronger too and be more consistent with my shooting."

Theodore has plenty of time to work on his game. He is a 2008 prospect. "I think I am a pretty good passer," Jordan said. "But I want to improve all parts of my game. This is what I try to do all the time."

Jordan said he has been concentrating and focusing on his academic situation. "I want to focus on my schoolwork right now," he said.

Theodore is unsure of what he would like to study in college but stated he likes and does well in the subject of English.

There are plenty of schools recruiting Jordan right now. Among them: Memphis, Miami of Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Gonzaga, Seton Hall, Georgetown, Illinois, Arizona, St. John's, Louisville, Florida, and Cincinnati.

"I don't have a leader," Theodore said. "I am open. "I am not even sure when I will make a decision. I just want to do well in school right now."
