Jackson Ready For Big Season In CHSAA

Big Apple Challenge is here this weekend and coverage will be provided ...

Xaverian High School has a rich tradition of winning many basketball games and also possessing some of the City's best players. This season is no exception.

This afternoon, at Hunter College in New York City, Xaverian High School will challenge Campus Magnet in the Big Apple Challenge. Hunter College is located at 68th Street and Lexington Avenue. Reporter Brian Towey is expected to be on hand tomorrow. The first game is at 2PM. There are four games slated for today.

Reporter Mike Sullivan will be at Baruch tomorrow for another slate of great games. Baruch College is located at 24th Street and Lexington Avenue. The first game starts at 12 PM. There are five games scheduled for tomorrow's event.

But if you are attending the game, look for swingman Patrick Jackson of Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, New York. Jackson is highly regarded and has improved his game over the past year.

Jackson, 6-foot-6, has nice size. As he adds some strength to his frame, the 2008 prospect should be one of the more publicized players in his class.

Miami of Florida, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Marquette, Rutgers, Seton Hall and St. John's were previously mentioned by Jackson as schools of interest to him.

It's early in his recruiting process. But it will be interesting to see how his game progresses this season.
