"To come out to New York and go 3-0, this has been a great experience," said Lake Forest coach Jeff Vaughn. "There aren't many prep schools in the Midwest for us to play, and our AD has done a great job to find similar types of schools to schedule against."
Lake Forest was led by West Bracket MVP Nathan Bateman. Bateman, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard out of the class of 2008, scored 26 points- including 13 in the fourth quarter- while drilling five three-pointers in the title game win over Brunswick. Bateman's shooting down the stretch made the difference for Lake Forest, as he proved that he was lethal off the catch.
"He's been our MVP all year long," said Vaughn. "He's definitely been our most consistent player. He's improved his all-around game- his passing, his athletic ability."
