New Jersey Guard Keeps Options Open

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the details about a guard from New Jersey ...

Zack Rosen made an interesting decision to go play for Danny Hurley's incredibly stacked St. Benedict's High School basketball program. The former Colonia High School guard had developed nicely there and continued to improve during the summer. He was again impressive at IS8 Fall League for the Gym Bad Boyz. While he also played for The New Jersey Elite (Orange) AAU program under head coach Galen Smith this past summer, it was obvious that Rosen had the talent to play division one basketball. The question now is how high a level?

For sure, over the next few months, the St. Benedict's schedule will test Rosen's skills. In his game this past weekend at the Hoop Group Tip-Off Classic, Rosen showed some solid floor leadership. He did a nice job in spotting open teammates and he knocked down the jumper when needed.

Rosen finished the game with eight points, including two three-pointers. "I'm open," he said after the game.

Zack meant open in his recruiting process. The schools previously mentioned were St. Francis, Stony Brook, Rutgers, Iowa State, and Virginia Tech. But the winter months will give us a better indication on who might seriously pursue the solid guard.

Now a member of the 2008 class, Rosen has two seasons to gain experience and continue his terrific progress.
