Nick Hendra Putting Up Solid Numbers

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at the early start for Nick Hendra ...

Over the course of the past 12 months, this site has reported many times on the Westchester Hawks AAU program. The Hawks, led by Phil Diasparra, are considered a must see program each spring and summer due to several reasons. Among them -- the style of play, the discipline and structure of the team on the court, and the players.

Xavier High School guard Nick Hendra was one player this site had a chance to watch several times during the summer. He never disappointed.

Hendra, 6-foot-2, possesses intelligence and athletic skill. He has the ability to jump over bigger bodies around the basket as well as drain clutch jumpers.

So far this season Nick is doing a tremendous job. Running the point at Xavier, his team got off to an early 5-0 start. He is currently averaging 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists per game.

Hendra has also recorded two trip doubles this season, showing his versatility in the backcourt. This is no surprise. As Hendra continues his individual improvement, he should have an exceptional college career.
